An excellent article about birth shock
Here's a lovely article by Pam England about "birth shock" and how to take care of new moms immediately after labor and birth. It's called the profoundly sacred transition during a newly-born mother's return from laborland.
As a DONA-trained doula and Lamaze-certified childbirth educator, I offer the following services:
Birth doula: package includes 2-3 prenatal visits; continuous emotional, physical and informational support during your labor and birth; help with establishing breastfeeding; and 2 postpartum visits.
Postpartum doula: packages come in 4 hour increments; overnights from 10pm till 7 am.
Childbirth classes (private): can choose between a 12 hour course (over six weeks), a 3-4 hour brush-up/intensive, or an 8 hour weekend intensive.
